Full of Hot Air
Brandon and I took a quick trip to the Pellissippi State Hot Air Balloon Festival this past weekend. This is the 5th year that Pellissippi held the festival, which featured more than 25 hot air balloons from the region. And like all festivals, there were arts and craft vendors, all kinds of greasy festival foods, children’s games, and live music. When we walked in through the gates, the cover band was playing Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name.” That’s when I knew this was a good festival.
We got there around 7 p.m., and set up a blanket and camping chair on a hill by the school. The famous balloon “GLOW” was scheduled at 8 p.m., so we had just enough to get the camera ready and much on a sugary funnel cake. Also, we got to hear the band do a cover of the Miley Cyrus hit, “See You Again.”
The glow was interesting to watch. Hot air balloons were set up around the campus pond, and the balloon pilots had choreographed a hot air balloon light show to popular music. And it was just the perfect night to be outdoors watching pretty balloons light up.
I wonder how you get a job as a hot air balloon designer?
