Lunching at Café du Rendez-Vous
After visiting Museé d'Orsay, the plan was to head to the Catacombs for a tour. But because it was free museum day, there wait to tour the Catacombs was nearly four hours. And on top of that, it started to rain. And it was cold. So we found a café across the street from the Catacombs called Café du Rendez-Vous and decided to have the most leisurely lunch on the terrace (covered, of course) and people watch.
Brandon ordered the croque monsieur with frites and a salade. And I ordered the gnocchi "à la crème du vin jaune avec mesclun et jambon ibérique." Best gnocchi ever.
The good thing about the pouring rain was that we weren't in any rush to finish our meals. I got savor every soft bite of gnocchi. Mmm! But after taking my time to eat, at some point I had a completely clean plate, so we eventually had to finish up our meals with tiny cups of espresso. And pay the bill.
