My House Smells Like Yeti's Breath
I'm very picky when it comes to fragrances, and when I find a smell I like, I pretty much stick with it. For perfume, it's Lola by Marc Jacobs. For hand soaps, it's L'Occitane's Shea Butter Verbena. For shower gel, it's Happy Hippy from Lush. And for candles, it's Voluspa, Goji Tarocco Orange.
But I found new candles that I love, and they're hand poured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They're Big White Yeti candles, all natural soy candles made in the Bayview neighborhood by my dear friend Katie.
A couple of weeks ago, I ordered three candles: Yeti's Breath, Lavender Patch, and My Drunk Sass. They are absolutely fragrant, yet not overpowering. Yeti's Breath has a clean, woodsy smell reminiscent of Nag Champa incense but cooler and lighter. Lavender Patch smells like lavender sachets but stronger and fresher like the ones hanging in store windows in Nice -- and not like lavender potpourri from Kirklands. And My Drunk Sass doesn't smell anything like I thought a drunk sass would smell. Instead it smells like a chardonnay or a champagne, fruity but also with a hint of citrus. Plus, the candle names are fantastic. I mean, My Drunk Sass? How could I not want to buy a candle with that name? Katie also has a candle called Kitten Toots, which I wanted to order, but it was sold out at the time. Seems like everyone loves the smell of Kitten Toots. (I think they're back in stock again this week. Hooray for Toots!)
Big White Yeti has some new candles out this week, including one called Grass Stain that sounds like the perfect smell for spring. And although the candles may seem small when compared to the huge Voluspa jars that I've been getting, they last for approximately 30 hours, which is quite a long time. But what's also great about Big White Yeti candles is the price. Custom smells, hand poured, all natural candles for $10 each is something that can't be beat. (I feel silly for paying so much for Voluspas!)
If you're looking for new scents to fill your home or office, I highly recommend Big White Yeti candles. They smell wonderful, they ship fast, and they're all poured with love from darling Katie in Milwaukee.
